At Auto China 2026, KOTEI unveiled “Clutch,” a next-generation HMI cockpit interactive showcase built on Unreal Engine technology. Following its debut at the KOTEI booth, Clutch quickly became one of the exhibition’s highlights, attracting strong attention from OEMs, industry media, and visitors.
Built on the latest Unreal Engine 5 technology architecture, Clutch deeply integrates AI capabilities with advanced real-time rendering technologies to explore new possibilities for future intelligent cockpit interaction. The showcase reflects KOTEI’s vision for more immersive, interactive, and emotionally engaging in-vehicle experiences in the software-defined vehicle era.

Multi-World Architecture Enables Independent Multi-Screen Development
Traditional multi-screen cockpit development often places all interfaces within a single environment, causing logic and assets to interfere with one another. Leveraging Unreal Engine 5’s “Multi-World” capabilities, KOTEI enables each screen to operate as an independent level with dynamic loading and isolated operation.
All screens are powered by the same engine while remaining independently developed and managed, improving development efficiency and optimizing resource usage.
Immersive 3D Cockpit Experiences Powered by Real-Time Rendering
Clutch showcases a variety of dynamic cockpit themes built entirely with real-time rendering technologies.
In music-themed experiences, cockpit lighting, materials, and visual effects react dynamically to rhythm and sound. In another interactive scene inspired by casual gaming environments, users can directly drag and interact with virtual characters inside the cockpit interface.
Rather than relying on pre-rendered videos, the entire experience is generated in real time through Unreal Engine 5, delivering a highly immersive 3D interaction experience.
Real-Time Rendered Navigation with Flexible Visual Styles
Unlike conventional navigation systems based on static image rendering, KOTEI uses Unreal Engine 5 to render maps entirely in real time.
Users can instantly switch between multiple visual styles, including pencil sketch and retro display-inspired themes, bringing a new level of flexibility and personalization to the navigation experience.
Cinematic Vehicle Visualization with Dynamic Lighting
Powered by Unreal Engine 5’s Lumen dynamic global illumination technology, Clutch delivers highly realistic vehicle lighting, reflections, and material textures in real time.
Vehicle appearance customization can be switched instantly through touch interaction, while colors and lighting transitions are rendered naturally to create a cinematic visual experience inside the cockpit.
Dynamic Game Worlds Embedded Directly into the Cockpit
KOTEI has also deeply optimized the multi-world plugin architecture to support dynamic loading and unloading of game environments directly within the cockpit system.
Game logic runs natively inside the cockpit experience, supporting touch, drag, and release interactions that transform the cockpit into a truly interactive entertainment space.
During the exhibition, Clutch generated extensive discussion among OEMs, industry media, and professional audiences.
